chamber of commerce St Albans

When we decided to enter the St Albans Chamber of commerce Business awards for the new business category. I didn’t think we would get through to the final but we have which we are so proud of.

I would just like to share with other fellow business owners whether they are a start up or more established that it’s well worth entering awards as even if you don’t win it’s still give you great exposure, PR and priceless new contacts.

You do need to demonstrate actual evidence of progress and how it has impacted your business and what results you have learn’t and seen from it. What your plans are for now, next year, 5 years and how you are going to get there. Your vision. Your story.

To me that’s what running a business is constantly doing it’s progressing, implementing and just getting on with it. Look outside the box, of course keep a good eye on trends, fashion, etc etc as you have to keep up but sometimes throw caution to the wind and just do it. We’ve heard it all before but you need to just sometimes ‘trust your gut’.

Who cares if you don’t get anywhere, at least you’ve tried and how many knock backs will you get in your time in starting up your business and in your businesses life? tons so get over it and never take it personally.

My motto is someone has to win and if I don’t then it’s not my time to and I need to do better.

There are so many awards, local, national, international you just have to google it, so easy, so simple and most of the local ones are FREE to enter so ideal for start ups.

We find out if we are a winner on the 1st October 2015 at the Aldwickbury Golf Club. Can’t wait!
